The year 2026 will mark the 20th anniversary of the European Head and Neck Society (EHNS), highlighting its evolution from a small group of pioneers into a network of over 2,000 members across 28 national societies. Built on multidisciplinarity, EHNS promotes collaboration, scientific excellence, and patient-centred care. Education remains central, with initiatives such as the EHNS Academy and Young EHNS supporting the next generation, alongside key events like ECHNO, ICHNO, and the global Make Sense Campaign.
Within this framework, otolaryngology (ENT) plays a central role in advancing head and neck oncology. The Young EHNS initiative provides a dedicated platform for ENT trainees and early-career specialists, fostering international collaboration, exchange of clinical experience, and development of surgical and diagnostic skills essential for managing complex head and neck cancers.
Complementing this, the EHNS Academy offers a structured, high-level educational programme focused on modern ENT practice. Through multidisciplinary courses and master-level training developed with leading European institutions, it supports expertise in advanced head and neck surgery, combined therapies, and innovative technologies, including minimally invasive techniques and artificial intelligence.
Together, these initiatives strengthen the ENT community and ensure continuous professional development, ultimately improving standards of care and patient outcomes across Europe.
