2026 OBSERVERSHIP TRAVEL GRANTS

Grant Details:
- Amount: €1,000
- Eligibility: Open to members of a national or subspecialty society, or individual members of the Confederation who are 35 years old or younger at the time of application.
- Amount: €1,300
- Eligibility: Same as above, with the additional requirement of having successfully passed the written part of the EBEORL Exam.
Application Requirements:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Proof of membership in the relevant society.
- Copy of ID or passport to confirm date of birth.
- Statement of purpose explaining your motivation for applying for the travel grant. Indicate your interest in an observership, the intended host institution or location, and the possible dates. Please note that confirmation of the observership is not required at this stage
- Optional: Proof of having passed the written part of the EBEORL Exam.
IMPORTANT Notes:
- Observership Travel Grants may not be used to attend congresses or courses.
- Applicants are responsible for identifying and arranging their own observership placements. The Confederation does not provide or facilitate observership opportunities.
- Awardees must submit a brief report describing the activity supported by the travel grant.
- The Presidential Council will review all eligible applications. Among those that meet the requirements, 20 awardees will be selected through a lottery.
CEORL-HNS 2026 Gothenburg Scholarships
The Gothenburg Scholarship Program offers each subspecialty, national, and co-opted member society the opportunity to select one young resident colleague (≤35 years) for free registration to the 2026 Gothenburg congress.
Conditions
- The recipient must submit an abstract as first author for the congress.
- The scholarships are distributed by the respective societies.
Interested applicants should contact their respective society.
2025 Educational Activities
Observership Travel Grants:
As part of the Educational Program for 2025, the Confederation has awarded 20 Observership travel grants ranging from 1,000 to 1,300 Euros. These grants were available to members of national, subspecialty or individual members of the Confederation. Applicants had to be below 35 years of age, must send a CV, proof of membership of the corresponding society and a statement of purpose to apply for the travel grant. Awardees are required to submit a brief report of the activity to which they have dedicated the travel grant.
2024 Educational Activities
The Confederation has given the following grants and scholarships in 2024:
Global Outreach Travel Grant:
The Confederation has awarded the Global Outreach Travel Grant. This grant includes a 2-week observership at the Department of Oto-rhino-laryngology, Bristol University Hospital, United Kingdom in June 2024, registration for the CEORL Congress in Dublin, June 15-19, 2024, as well as up 5000 Euro to cover travel and lodging. For 2024, applicants were invited from NEPAL. The awardee is Dr Bhuwan Raj Pandey.
For the planned grant in 2026, another applicant country will be selected from the list.
Observership Travel Grants:
The Confederation has given 12 Observership travel grants of up to 500 Euros to members of national, subspecialty or individual members of the Confederation. Applicants had to be below 35 years of age, must send a CV, proof of membership of the corresponding society and a statement of purpose to apply for the travel grant. Awardees are required to submit a brief report of the activity to which they have dedicated the travel grant.
CEORL-HNS 2024 Dublin Scholarships:
The Dublin Scholarship program offered each national and co-opted member society the opportunity to select one young resident colleague (≤35 years) for free registration to the 2024 Dublin conference. The recipient must have submitted an abstract as first author for the congress. The scholarships have been distributed by the corresponding societies.
