Polish Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

Polish Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery has over one hundred year tradition. Since many decades the Main Board of the Polish Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery actively supports the organizational, scientific, and professional initiatives of the community of over 3,000 Polish otolaryngologists.

In the current year, the Board is co-organizing three Section Conferences of the Society: the Pediatric, Otoneurologic, and Oncological HN Sections. It has also served as a co-organizer of the Congress of Military Otolaryngologists and acted as a patron of the 15th ELS Congress, which took place on May 8–10 in Warsaw.

The Board extends its patronage to multi-center research projects.

The first of these, dedicated to the clinical, histopathological, and epidemiological aspects of salivary gland tumors, known as the “salivary network” and officially titled the Polish Salivary Network Database, has been operational since March 2023.

The second initiative, the “elderly network,” the Polish Geriatric ENT Network Database, has been analyzing hospitalizations of senior patients across eight university departments since May 2024.

The Board is actively engaged in matters of critical importance to the professional community: the standardization of patient consent forms for all types of ENT surgeries, advocacy before the National Health Fund regarding the valuation of procedures, and close collaboration with the Council of University Department Heads. We are currently undertaking a new challenge, the establishment of the Young ORL Section.

The Main Board of the Polish Society remains highly receptive to cooperation with European bodies in the fields of training and scientific endeavors.
