SEORL Malaga

The Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (SEORL-CCC) celebrates its 75th anniversary.

During this year, the SEORL-CCC celebrates 75 years of life. Founded in Madrid in 1949, we celebrate a history of growth, passion for otorhinolaryngology and fight for our speciality. 75 years and 75 National Congresses, which have been attended by the best faculty members and thousands of participants (and friends) from all over the world. A Society with history, but also with a young heart: all the residents who started their training this year applied to join our society. A Society that is living one of its best moments; a bridge between America and Europe, full of activities and scientific events in which, in addition to its more than 3000 members, many other colleagues from other countries participate.

The centre of our celebrations will be the National Congress to be held in Malaga (23rd to 26th October). We will enjoy the knowledge of top experts among the faculty, a first-class scientific programme and the wonderful city that hosts us.

Futhermore, this year, the SEORL-CCC has boosted its scholarship programme, increasing both research grants and scholarships for training stays, and has created new humanitarian aid grants to support members of our society who carry out humanitarian work in other continents. As part of this drive, and in coordination with CEORL-HNS, the SEORL-CCC has created awards for the best abstracts presented at the European Congress by members in training. Almost 50 doctors in training presented their work, and a specific evaluation panel was set up to award four prizes with a significant financial endowment to present their research in Dublin.
