The decision to create the Confederation of the European Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, CEORL-HNS was taken during the 1st Meeting of the European Academy of ORL-HNS which took place from June 27 - 30, 2009 in Mannheim.
Following Mannheim, the constitution of the Confederation was drafted and adopted in the General Assemblies of both EUFOS and the EAORL-HNS during the 1st Congress of the CEORL-HNS, July 2-6, 2011 in Barcelona. It was then registered in Vienna, Austria.
At the General Assembly on April 30, 2015 in Nice, a new constitution was adopted which allowed for direct membership of all European subspecialty societies and national ENT societies in CEORL-HNS.
Following that decision and after the legal dissolution of EUFOS and EAORL-HNS, at the General Assembly of CEORL-HNS on June 8, 2015 in Prague, the process of creating a single body representing ENT in Europe was finalised.
